Major responsibilities (as of Sept 1, 2009):
1) Develop/maintain the following software applications of ICIS:
- SetGen (Create or edit germplasm lists)
- GMSSearch (Search germplasms & associated info)
- Installation Diagnostic Tool (for troubleshooting the ICIS setup)
- Data Validation Tool (for data quality checking)
2) Implement, test, compare, document and provide support for different database backend technologies for the International Crop Information System (ICIS)
3) Database administration/ Technical support:

4) Lead the adoption and use of collaborative tools (including CropForge and CropWiki) within the ICIS and GCP communities.
5) Documentation and testing of ICIS applications, as well as other relevant tools and technologies.
6) Training / assistance for ICIS users worldwide (as needed).
A bit of history...
- July 2005 - December 2006: I was a Programmer at IRRI's T.T. Chang Genetic Resources Center. I was involved in the project of migrating the legacy IRRI International Rice Genebank Collection Information System (IRGCIS) to the Genetic Resources Information Management System (GRIMS) for the International Rice Genebank, an application that uses ICIS tools.
