Pedigree Viewer Main Page

[Deployed 12 May, 2009]

  • no visible change - but the underlying code was cleaned-up a lot. Please report if something seems to be broken.

[Deployed 05 May, 2009]

  • In the parental pedigree, when the selection history is not shown (which is by default) but Show methods is checked on, then the number of not-shown steps labels the edge.
  • IRIS database updated (the pedigrees should show now the latest version of IRIS data).

[Deployed 29 April, 2009]

  • reshuffling the hierarchy of Nodes customization
  • few fixes concerning locations, country of origin, and country of creation

[Deployed 26 April, 2009]

  • There is a completely new display of germplasm details (shown below the graph). Click on a node, it opens a popup menu, and select there the "Germplasm details". The popup window stays open and "travels" when you scroll your browser page down (well, it does not move immediately - because that is not supported in the Internet Explorer, but it opens again at a good position when you click another node).
  • Added quite a big optimization when querying for children (which happens in the neighborhood pedigrees ) - such queries now return by 60-70% faster.
  • Each node has now (in a popup window) a link to the new ICIS web page (to Zeus) representing its germplasm details.
  • The queries now correctly ignore deleted names.

[Deployed 21 April, 2009]

  • A new option Show selection history allows to create parental pedigree with or without derivative and maintenance steps.
  • The button Restore all branches now takes into consideration the Maximum steps field (so it restores the branches only up to limit given in the Maximum steps). The same for the Restore parental branch selected in the small pop-up window.
  • The selected Maximum steps are not automatically changed to all - as it happened in some cases before. But be aware that this field is not used if the graph has some unfinished branches (except when the Restore all branches is pressed).
  • The default contents of nodes now includes the preferred ID name (therefore, by default, each node shows the Preferred name, GID and Preferred ID name).
  • The checks for deleted germplasm were added.

[Deployed 06 April, 2009]

  • Setting backward/forwards steps (generations) was added to the neighborhood pedigrees.

[Deployed 04 April, 2009]

  • Reasonable pedigree creation speed improvement. We are not yet there but we are on the way...
  • This documentation reasonably completed. Well, the documentation is never fully complete, neither the software...

[Deployed 29 March, 2009]

  • New kinds of pedigrees for derivative (example) and maintenance (example) neighboroughs
  • For generative method, the edge arrows now distinguish FEMALE and MALE parents (example)
  • Non-ascii characters in the texts are now correctly displayed:

  • Allowing to split too long names on several lines (example)
  • Fixed some issues with the Internet Explorer:
    • Button "Save pedigree as" pops-up a saving-file dialog
    • Disabled options (in popup-windows) are really disabled
  • Fixed dates in the nodes:

  • For preferred ID, allow to show NVAL, as well as location and date
  • The square brackets around the names were removed
  • Pedigree can be shortened by removing one or more parental branches. Such places are indicated by a special dotted edge. This edge is now clickable - it restores the whole parental branch.
  • The "Connectors" were removed. They probably just confused. Correct?
  • Default colors for germplasm methods were changed according what I found in the ICIS GMS search tool. Are they correct now?:
